The application of water plants in interior decoration is a presently popular trend. When plants are cultivated indoor, the limiting factor is light. But the study on light adaptation of water plants in indoor environment is not appeared. Thereby it is essential and significant to interior plant design.5 species of want plants were, tested indoor, they are Nelumbo nucifera cv. rose red duplicate, Pontederia cordata L., Alisma orientle Juzepcz., Hydrocotyle vulgaris L. and Pistia stratiotes L.. On the basis of the study on seasonal dynamic light distribute, temperature and humidity in indoor environment, this paper select 6 kinds of indoor light environment. Under the different light environment in which the temperature and humidity are all similar, the daily change of photo synyheyic rate, the light compensation point, light saturation point and the maximum net photosynthesis rate, the chlorophyll content, the leaf structure were systemically measured and analyzed with a LI—6400 apparatus in different seasons. The results showed that in different light environment the testing plants have differently respective light adaptation and the detailed results are as follows:(1) The adaptive abilities of Nelumbo nucifera to low radiation(PAR) and high PAR are both weak and therefore Nelumbo nucifera is suited to be cultivated in the environment in which there is point-blank light (PAR scope is 200950μmol·m-2·s-1)and continuous radiation is longer than 1.5 hours.(2) Pontederia cordata has a few adaptive abilities to low PAR. But it requires high PAR and therefore Pontederia cordata is suited to be cultivated in the environment in which there is point-blank light (PAR scope is 200-1600μmol·m-2·s-1 and continuous radiation is longer than 2 hours.(3) The adaptive abilities of Alisma orientle to low PAR is weak but gradually stronger after a period planting. It has a few adaptive abilities to high PAR and therefore it is suited to be cultivated in the environment in which there is point-blank light (PAR scope exceed 200μmol·m-2·s-1 )and continuous radiation is longer than 1.5 hours.(4) The adaptive abilities of Hydrocotyle vulgaris to low PAR is strongest in the 5 kinds of testing plants. But it has weak adaptive abilities to high PAR and is suited to be cultivated in the environment in which there is bright dispersed light (PAR scope is 15200μmol·m-2·s-1(5) The adaptive abilities of Pistia stratiotes to low PAR is weak But in the 5 kinds of testing plants Pistia stratiotes has strongest adaptive abilities to high PAR and is suited to cultivated in the environment in which there is point-blank light (PAR scope exceed 400μmol·m-2·s-1 )and continuous radiation is longer than 2 hours.The adaptive abilities of light adaptation are as follows:adaptive abilities to low PAR:in spring: Hydrocotyle vulgaris> Pontederia cordata> Nelumbo nucifera> Pistia stratiotes> Alisma orientlein summer, autumn and winter: Hydrocotyle vulgaris> Alisma orientle> Pontederia cordata> Nelumbo nucifera> Pistia stratiotesadaptive abilities to high PAR: Pistia stratiotes> Alisma orientlo Pontederia cordata> Nelumbo nucifera>Hydrocotyle vulgar is...
