Effect Of Modifying Tree Form On Growth And Fruit In Red Fuji Apple

The experiment was conducted from 2004 to 2005 in HeZe city on the base of the present agriculture practice.The 10-years-old trees of Red Fuji apple which is the main variety in practise, were used as materials. The change of Growth,Yield and Qulity in Red Fuji Apple were studied by the experiments about the rising of trunk, the reducingof theheight,the distance of leaf-screen thickness of main branches.The main resu- lts were as follows:1. The growth of the new branches change in single-s curve,after pruning the tree shape. With the increase of trunk height,the growth speed of new branches was firstly faster and subsequently became slower in 60 days after the full blo- om stage,the last growing length of new branches decreased with the increase of trunk height.There were clear differences between different trentments.The growth speed of new branches was increased with the discrease of tree height at the same time the length of new branches was increased.the length of new branches had the similar trends with the distance of main branches increasing. But there were clear difference between treatments.2. Pullulation rate was positively correlative to it's trunk height,but the ability of grow-branch had the opposite trends with that. Pullulation rate was down with the treatment in which the tree height was decrease ,but the ability of grow-branch was up.The result indicated that there were not clear difference bet- ween the treatments. Besides this, pullulation rate and the ability of grow– branch both had the rising trends with the increasing of distances in the main branches,but there were peak differences.3. The treatment of pruning shape had obvious rejection on the quantity and kinds of branches.With the rising of the trunk height, the quantities of one tree's branch decreased rapidly,but the rate of the spur shoot was rising,among three treatment had most effects.When the trunk height was 120cm,the rate of the spur shoot.
