Abstract/Summary:
The thesis "Research and application of water-saving irrigation technology on Weifang area high-quality flue-cured tobacco" is guided by Professor Shi-chunhai and Lianghongbo. The results are the follows.The minimum required water reached 4000mL in flue-cured tobacco fields of Weifang district by trickling irrigation. Otherwise, the soil moisture would not be available in the accumulating section of root system when the irrigated water remained less than 4000mL in each hole. The trickling irrigation system could definitely improve the agronomic traits of tobacco plants and enhance the yield and quality of tobacco. In comparison with furrow irrigation, it could produce the 4-5 times higher output value per stere. The complex could be available in three years and result in the high irrigation producing rate with the cost/produce ratio of 1:4. The trickling irrigation system showed easily and simply operation around the clock, with equally distributed water in soil.The spraying irrigation was roughly equal with furrow irrigation in terms of used water, with slightly increased yield and output value, no significant effect in terms of water saving was observed. Spraying irrigation gives improvement of physical and chemical characters of soil without surface retention.The analysis showed that the spraying irrigation was not recommended in Weifang tobacco production area in the near future due to high cost and high requirement for water resource, complicated operation method, and technical maintenance.The furrow irrigation above plastic film mulching in the early growing stage could attain the goal of water-saving. The effectivity of water saving and leaf quality improving could also be realized by the alternation of furrow irrigation and straw mulching when drought in the vigor growth stage after uncovering of plastic film and hilling, Thus the demonstration and popularization of the water saving irrigation system is recommended.
