Choosing natural, one-winter-old and two-winter-old artificial propagation Hemibarbus (Maculates Bleeker) broodstock as the objects, we studied their reproductive ability and mature ratio and also the effect of different kinds of drug and different dosages on the artificial propagation of the fish. Meanwhile, the effect of various ways of propagation and incubation were studied as well.It concluded that under the conditions of artificial breeding, the mature ratio of male and female artificial two-winter-old Hemibarbus changed in the same trend, and reached the best breeding season from the end of April to the middle of May. And the mature ratio of male Hemibarbus became the highest and earlier than the female, and then reducing slowly.Comparative researches on the reproduction ability among the 23 years old natural, one-winter-old and two-winter-old broodstock artificial propagation on Hemibarbus broodstock were carried out for the first time. The study suggested that artificial propagation broodstock can reach the sex mature when they are one winter old, but in the same range of body length, 1821cm, significant difference of the reproductive ability was found between natural and artificial propagation broodstock, one-winter-old and two-winter-old, while no marked change of reproductive ability happens between natural and two-winter-old Hemibarbus. In the experiment, we found the absolute reproductive ability of the two-winter-old was 642 thousand per fish and the average was 20.5 thousand per fish, the comparative reproductive ability was 80.7175.3 thousand per kilogram, with the average was 137 per gram. Comparative reproductive ability of the one-winter-old broodstock was only 058.7 thousand per kilogram, and the average was 34 per gram.We also did a comparative experiment on pond-strengthen-bred natural broodstock to find the suitable dosage of the drug for the first time. The conclusion was that DOM5mg/kg +LRH-A21.2ug/kg and HCG1000IU/kg +LRH-A21.2ug/kg has obvious advantage compared with the other drugs, but we also found the increment of the dosages cannot improve the ratio of egg delivering and insemination. Hemibarbus was more sensitive to the combination of DOM +LRH-A2 than HCG +LRH-A2.This was a pioneer work on artificial mature broodstock of Hemibarbus. We designed three temperature ranges, 1617°C, 18.5-20.5 °C and 22-24°C. In these study, we used three different dosages of the drug. The result was that each of DOM+LRH-A2, HCG+LRH-A2, PG+LRH-A2 can improve the hatch of artificial broodstock of Hemibarbus successfully. We did the first try to improve sexual mature of the Hemibarbus broodstock at the low temperature of 16-17 "C, and gained success eventually. So the success elucidated the Hemibarbus can reach sex mature earlier than the Chinese carps, and it is possible for Hemibarbus to do artificial propagation in ahead of the Chinese carps.Comparing with the three combinations of the drugs, we found combination of HCG+LRH-A2 was the most inertia, unless in the low temperature range; combination of DOM+LRH-A2 was sensible to Hemibarbus with the increase of temperature, in the temperature range of 18.5-20.5°C and 22-24°C, DOM+LRH-A2 had the shortest time of egg delivering and the highest efficiency to egg delivering and insemination. The effect of PG+LRH-A2 was in the middle of the other two combinations.Comparative research on the three ways of artificial hatch Hemibarbus showed the artificial insemination eggs of the same group, which were dealt with mud water, had higher hatchery rate than those without dealt with, but the former hatch time is longer than the latter. For the different incubation ways of the same group of broodstock, incubation effect of natural eggs with artificial-fish-nest hatch had almost no difference with the artificial insemination eggs dealt with mud water, and the birth rate of their larvae was almost the same. But it is documented that the latter has the longer hatchery time and the higher mortality of the broodstock after birth, which was a large damage for the reproduction of Hemibarbus.Anyway, the research results suggested that offspring from artificial propagation Hemibarbus broodstock in mud pond was possible absolutely for using artificial egg parturition when they grown up, and entirely artificial propagation can be used in Hemibarbus as well as in Chinese carps.
