Street Trees Investigation On Typhoon Resistance In Coastal Cities Of ZheJiang Province

Zhejiang province on the southeast of China coast is often attacked by typhoon and strong tropic storms.Typhoon destroys urban landscape heavily, especially street trees. The direct result is that trees fall down, several of which are blowed to death by the waist or roots pulled out even. Typhoon has been one of the important obstacles influencing the construction of the urban landscape architecture in Zhejiang province. Building the system of typhoon resistance and selecting the right trees which are good at resisting typhoon to reduce the loss by typhoon and perfectting the system of urban typhoon resistance are imperative under the situation.The author makes a research on the typhoon that landed Zhejiang province since 1949 through the book "Yearbook of Typhoon" and "Yearbook of Zhejiang" and indicates the situations of the typhoon in Zhejiang provence in recently 60 years, and discusses the characters of the typhoon landing on Zhejiang province. The author deeply investigated the types of street trees, the size of trees, the local condition, the various measures before and after the typhoon and the problems of the present street trees in some main coast cities. Through the gathered and statistic data with the typhoon of the frequent landing, the author discusses how to reduce the proportion of suffers of street trees and then approachs many kinds of the messures and countermeasure to the street trees going against the wind.The author makes the list of the street trees of coastal cities in order to provide the reference for further programming of street trees and push street greening of Zhejiang province into a more healthy, persistent and fast development.Finally, the author puts forward several advices to the development of street trees of coastal cities in Zhejiang province on the condition of typhoon coming frequently and heavy loss of street trees .With the proportion of losses by typhoon, now the street trees in main coastal cities of Zhejiang province are behaving well in typhoon recently, such as Cinnamomum camphor a (Linn. )Presl,Ginkgo biloba Linn. ,Albizia julibrissin Dmzz and so on.. In generally, the kind of street trees is not abundant. There are too many Cinnamomum camphor-a(Linn. )Presl, and the sight of streets is too boring.Hence, it's a very necessary to analyze and research the shapes of street trees, the ability of resisting pollution, the speed of growth, the ability of resisting typhoon and the value of enjoyment about flowers and fruits, by which we can make guidance plans of street trees of city, and change resisting typhoon street trees. We advocate planting trees , enhance the work for resisting typhoon and for salvage after the typhoon and make the detailed statistics and conclusion. There is typhoon every year, so we should plant trees at the same time. The only way to reduce the loss of street trees by typhoon is doing all these work mentioned above.
