In this experiment, three different ages of geese were selected to feed on the experimental diets containing 10% soybean and each group involed ten replicates. This experiment was carried out to study the effect of soybean on growth performance, metabolic rate, digestive tract and others in geese of different ages. The aim is to study the antinutritional effect of soybean on geese and the relation with the performance and the metabolic rate of geese. In this experiment Liu method was adopted to examine the content of trypsin inhibitors activity. The main purpose was to learn the changes of trypsin inhibitors in digestive tract. In production practice, the paper supplied the reliable bases for studying utilization soybean in geese. The results showed as follows:The result of the digesting experiment indicated, daily weight gain and feed/gain of experimental group lower than control group and the effect of feed intake were significant. We can conclude that the antinutional factors of soybean can have significant effect on growing performance for young geese and adult geese. The result of daily feed/gain showed, the difference between two groups for young geese and adult geese was significant(P<0.05, P<0.01), but was not significant for old geese. The result of the metabolic experiment indicated, the digestion rate of dry material, crude protein and fat of experimental group were lower than control group. The digestion rate of all materials were not significant for old geese. The development of digestive tract was different in geese of different breed. Experimental group of geese had ultimate relatively weight of gizzard, small intestine and large intestine. The thickness of duodenum, jejunum of experimental group for young and adult geese was significantly thicker than control group geese(P<0.05). But the thick of ileum and caecum and the length of small intestine and large intestine were not significant between the two group. The results indicated that the relevant weight of pancreas of young geese and adult geese fed raw soybean diet was significantly higher than that of control diet(P<0.05, P<0.01). There was no significant difference between the raw soybean diet and control diets. There was significant short term effect of raw soybean on pancreas growth, but there were no significant difference on other organs for heart, liver, spleen, kidney. In the intestinal food, the result of the activity of trypsin inhibitors by Liu method, we can conclude that the activity of trypsin inhibitors were not decrease too much.In sum, it could be found that after the young geese and adult geese received the diet containing raw soybean, the daily weight gain, feed efficiency and the digestion rate of the diets were all decreased. There was significant short term effect of raw soybean on young geese and adult geese but not for old geese.
