Rumex gmelini Turcz is classified as Rumex (Polygonaceae). Its root and rhizome have been used for antifungal, antitumor, antitussive and expectrant, antiasthma, antivirus and antioxidation. To study the effect of fungi of Helminthosporium on secondary metabolites content, two Helminthosporium turcicum Passerini and Helminthosporium maydis Nishikado et Miyabe was used to infected the germinal and the seedling Rumex gmelini. Results showed that the Helminthosporium turcicum Passerini could enhance the content of resveratrol, polydatin, musizin et al notably at the early of treatment. The inhibitory effect of fungi to the growth of Rumex gmelini after 40d treatment was also found. In this paper, we also studied the law of dynamic accumulate-ion of secondary metabolites of Rumex gmelini of different seed sources. The result showed that the content of polydatin, resveratrol, musizin and chrysophanol 1-glucoside was different among Rumex gmelini of different seed sources. But the fluctuant law of content of secondary metabolites was same.Through the stepwise regression analysis between soil nutrients and content of secondary metabolites in the root of Rumex gmelin, we studied the correlation of them. The regression equation was established. The results of these studies can offer the theoretic base and the practical guide to Rumex gmelin cultivated in compliaftce with good agricultural practice (GAP).
