Pot and field experiments were carried out during 2003-2004 to study the effects of different types and rates of phosphorus fertilizer on biological and physiological characteristics, accumulation and distribution of dry matter and phosphorus in dark sun-cured tobacco and chemical components of the cured leaves. At the same time, the optimal rate and type of phosphorus fertilizer about production of the high quality dark sun-cured tobacco leaves were evaluated. The results were as follows:1. Effects of different phosphorus fertilizer application rate on the growth of dark sun-cured tobaccoIn this experiment by determine the concentration of IAA and ZR in root in different growth period, it showed that the concentration of IAA was highest in the no phosphoric fertilizer treatment. Phosphoric fertilizer applied promoted the concentration of IAA and ZR within P application treatment. Results indicated that fertilizer increased the concentration of ZR in all the treatments at three growth stage. With the raise of P fertilizer rates, the NR, INV, ATPase in root, root activity, chrolophyll content all presented a gradually increasing trend. The treatments without applying phosphorus hade made mature of leaf delayed for its' chrolophyll content and NR activity maintain high rate at mature stage. With the increasing of the amount of phosphorus fertilizer, it improved plant height, stem girth and leaf size markedly. The accumulation of dry matter increased with P fertilizer used to increase. There was positive correlation between the accumulation of dry matter and the amount of phosphorus fertilizer. A strong correlation was observed between the accumulation of dry matter in rosset stage, and significant correlation in the mature stage. Applied P fertilizer could promote the content of total sugar, potassium and phosphorus in different parts of leaves, and declined the content of total nitrogen, nicotine and starch. The results indicated that the quality of leaf was better of the treatment with applying phosphorus 225kg/hm2. 2 Effects of different phosphorus fertilizers on the growth of dark sun-cured tobacco...
