Study On A Kind Of Probiotics For Cow

The incidence of cow mastitis in china is very high .Cow mastitis causes much loss every year. Curing cow mastitis with antibiotics can not get satisfactory effect.On the other hand,antibiotics can lead to residue in milk .Compared to antibiotics ,probiotics has many good points such as multifunction, no side-effect ,no remain and so on. So a kind of probiotics which can strengthen cow immunity was to be developed through our study. This probiotics will be applied to cure and prevent cow mastitis so as to lower the incidence of cow mastitis. Bacillus licheniformis separated from soil,Propionibacterium Acidpronionici separated from silage and known Candida utilis, Lactibacillus acidophilus and two strains Saccharomyces cerevisiae were selected to develop the probiotics used for cow. Biological characteristics of six strains selected were studied through toxicity test, bacteriostatic activity test, acid and alkali endurance test, cholate endurance test, heat endurance test, temperature growth test, antibiotics susceptibility test and compatibility test .The results of these tests showed six strains confirmed to the requirements of selecting beneficial microorganism in developing probiotics.Using six strains selected a kind of probiotics was made through the process including culturing, fermenting, adding vector, drying and viable count inspecting .The toxicity of the probiotics which we had developed was inspected and its cow experiment was done .Two tests indicated this probiotics was safe and had certain therapeutic action to recessive cow mastitis. The following conclusions were drawn from the research.(1) Six strains selected can be applied to manufacture the probiotics used for cow. (2) The probiotics developed in the study confirms to 《The Temporary Scheme of Manufacturing and Inspecting Probiotics》 issued by the related government department and it is safe.(3) The probiotics developed in the reseach has certain therapeutic action to recessive cow mastitis.
