A Study On The Nutritional Value Of Leaves Of Broussonetia Papyrifera In Diets For Growing Pig And Broiler Chick

Abstract/Summary:
Nutritional values of leaves of Broussonetia papyrifera (LBP) had been evaluated on following experiments。In experiment 1, 6 averaging 29.50kg in body weight, healthy crossbred growing male pigs (DLY) were used to study the apparent digestibilities of nutritients (including GE, CP, EE, CF and NFE),N retention and apparent biological value of protein in LBP through the method of collecting feces from anus. The results showed that the apparent digestibilities of GE, CP, EE, CF and NFE were as follows respectively: 68.10%, 76.50%, 30.13%, 32.61%, 83.22%; DE , N retention and apparent biological value protein in LBP were 10.54MJ/kg , 61.72%, 70.31% respectively.In experiment 2, 12 about 1.53kg yellow broilers were used to study the availabilities of GE, CF, EE, CF, and NFE of LBP through chick TME method. The result showed that the true availability of GE, CF, EE, CF, NFE in LBP were 50.71%, 89.92%, 77.06%, 20.55%, 68.87% respectively. Apparent metabolizable energy and true metabolizable energy were 6.92MJ/kg or 8.11MJ/kg respectively. The experiment suggested that yellow broilers can utilize protein effectively, but not much effectively to energy.In experiment 3, 56 Kunming-mice were randomly divided into 4 groups (16 mice per group) by sex and weight, i.e. group A,B,C,D respectively. The 4 groups received diets containing 0% LBP (control group), 10% LBP, 20%LBP, and 40% LBP respectively for 35 days to evaluate the chronic toxicity of LBP. The resultshowed: ALP of group C and BUN, ALP of group D were different significantly from group A(P<0.05). ALT of group D were extremely significant differences from group A(P<0.01). The section of liver and kidney of tissues showed: liver and kidney of tissues of group D have slight pathological symptom. Group B and group C have not significant differences.As described above, it was concluded that LBP can be widely used as ingredient of diet of livestock and poultries, but we should control the dose of addition under 20% and improve the energy of diet and keep the balance of nutrients of diet.
