With the development of economy, city expansion, infrastructure establishment and population increase, urbanization is speeding. However, it has brought on a series of environmental problems, such as heat island effect, air pollution, acid rain, water pollution and noise pollution etc. Urban forest, as the integrated component of urban ecosystem, has the function of self-purification and plays an important role in ameliorating ecological environment. More and more people have focused their attention on its development.Tree species selection is the basic work of urban forest construction and healthy trees can maximumly benefit urban environment. But there are few reports studying on tree species selection of urban forest, and the selection methods mostly applied are afforestation comparison experiment or qualitative analysis in the studies of afforestation or landscape architecture. Quantitative analysis is rarely applied to tree species selection. In this study, AHP modeling method was applied to screen out the ideal tree species for urban forest construction in Hangzhou. The two main types of urban forest are nucleus woodland and ecological corridor which includes river forestbelts and street forestbelts. Three AHP models were constructed according to the goal of three types urban forest and the evaluation standards were constituted. After evaluation, framework tree species were selected, so were chief, secondary, supplement disposition species and the unfit species for ecologiacal corridors. Three AHP models were constructed according to the goals of three types urban forest construction in Hangzhou, ecological properities and the natural conditions of Hangzhou, and the evaluation standards were constituted. After evaluation, framework tree species were selected, so were chief, secondary, supplement disposition species and the unfit species for ecologiacal corridors. In addition, the same conclusion of three evaluation systems is that the top scores of arbor are higher than that of shrub and liana, which indicates that in urban forest construction arbors must be planted together with shrubs, lianas and herbs so as to form multilayer...
