The vegetable production with energy-saving solar greenhouse is much sensible to regional climate. Compared with other regions of China, abundant solar energy and heat energy resources exist in the Northwest. To distinguish the differences in the vegetable production under different climates, to definitude the basic climatic requirement of solar greenhouse in different regions, so as to wield the local climate resource, to define possible bases for solar greenhouse development, and to guide the development of solar greenhouse properly, Triple-categorization of the Northwest of China climatic have been categorized for energy-saving greenhouse. Two regions were divided: heating region and non-heating region by whether heat is necessary or not in vegetable production in solar greenhouse during winter and spring. The area on the south of the 40°of northern latitude is non-heating region while the area on the north part of 40°of northern latitude is heating region.Meteorological factors which play an important role on energy-saving solar greenhouse production were selected. By using principal component analysis to make an index general summarization, using systematic cluster analysis to make primary region, selecting, and using the method of discriminate analysis to testify the effect of geographical demarcation, 7 sub-regions were divided.By using dominant index law (mainly on the temperature element, which has great influence on the production of solar greenhouse) and combining the administration region, we can divide the sub-regions further. With the help of drawing distribution isograms, the homological sub-regions were put into 12 triple-regions.
