Lack of calcium can cause many livestock diseases, which will bring husbandry serious consequence. At present, in the veterinary medicine market of our country, the calcic supplement injection, which are fit for livestock and safe, economical, effective and convenient, hardly can be found or their effects are not ideal. According the property that the solubility of glucal is low but can raise if adding boric acid into the water. We find out one approach to resolve above-mentioned problems. Through many times orthonormal testing, selecting factor, finding site, drawing up factor grade table and reforming technology, and under the condition-pH is 5, reaction temperature is 45 , reaction time is 15min, proportion of the glucal and boric acid is 12/1.5, We summarized that the prepared injection is colorless and clear. Moreover, the inspection results of pH and pyrogen of this boric acid glucal injection (in which the content of calcium is 24.9mg/ml) correspond with <>. Using glucal, definite boric acid, adequate sucrose and essence and so on, we developed 10% and 20% compound electuary of boric acid glucal. This production is white powdery and tasteless. Drying electuary to stable weight by putting them in drying oven (105 ), it lost its weight by 3.5%, this correspond with standard of the veterinary medicine of China.Doing the acute toxicological experiment with KunMing mice according to the improving Kou's methods by injecting 30% Boric acid glucal into abdominal cavity of mice, We gained LD50 of the injection is 7.77g/kg body weight; Injecting it into the tail vein of mice trough MTD determination method, We gained its LD50 is more than 7.19g/kg body weight; Rabbits were not found any toxic side effects after injecting the product into their eye Vein, and their most tolerable dosage is 4 ml/kg body weight. Giving mice the developed electuary of Boric acid glucal to mice by irrigating stomach, We gained their most tolerable dosage is more than 8g/kg body weight. This showed that the product belongs wholesome medicine. By doing tentative experiment, We found that the 30% Boric acid glucal injection stable for heat, not sensitive for illumination and effective time can extend two years under normal atmospheric temperature if packing it with airtight glass.The solubility of electuary of developed Boric acid glucal is high, not sensitive forfierce illumination and stability is firm for heat. But due to its moisture absorption is serious in the high temperature, moistureproofing appears very important during storage. The accelerating experiment showed that the casing of electuary of Boric acid glucal was good with polyethylene membrane, double dominium moulded membrane packing bags or brown glass bottle (wax seal). The test results of microtherm method predict that the tentative storage effective time of electuary of Boric acid glucal would be two years in the normal atmospheric temperature.The clinical observation showed that 30% Boric acid glucal injection has obvious effect in treatment of cow postpartum paralysis by vein injection, the cure rate is 83.3%. Compared with 10% glucal injection, 30% boric acid glucal injection is better in stability and convenient, the price is lower, injection dose is less. These make the product more suitable to apply in veterinary clinical treatment. Therefore, our developed high concentration injection and electuary of boric acid glucal have many advantages, such as little stimulation, high safety and convenient, Besides, they also can quickly increase Ca2+ concentration in the blood and cure postpartum paralysis in short time.
