This paper studied the effect of pentosanase supplementation to the broiler wheat based diets.The following work had been done.Experiment I. A total of 2032 1-day-old broiler chickens were equally divided into 4 groups, and there were 4 replicates per group with 127 broilers.Four Beijing wheat-based diets containing 0,300,500 or 800Xu/kg pentosanase were given respectively to 4 groups from age of 1 to 42 days. It was found that supplementation of pentosanase at all 3 level can improve the broiler performance. Compaired with the control treatment, during the age of 1-21 day, with enzyme supplementation at 300,500 or 800 Xu /kg broilers daily gain were increased by 2. 17%, 3. 83%> 3. 46% respectively ; and feedigain ratios decreased by 3.83%, 5. 43% (P<0. 05), 5. 54% (P<0. 05). During the age of 22-42day, with enzyme supplementation at 300,500 or 800 Xu /kg broilers daily gain were increased by 1. 40%, 2. 54%, 1. 86% respectively ; and feed conversion ratios decreased by 3. 64%, 5. 88% (P<0. 05) , 4. 98% (P<0. 05).Experiment II A total of 480 1-day-old broiler were equally divided into 4 groups, and there were 4 replicates per group with 30 broilers.Two wheat cultivars (Beijing wheat and Hetao wheat) were given with or without 500 Xu /kg pentosanase supplementation .The four diets obtained were given to the 4 groups respectively.The results showed that containing pentosanase in two wheat cultivars diets both improve daily weight gains (P>0.05) , decrease feed:gain ratios (PO.05). With enzyme in the diets ,the relatively weight of digestive organ including muscular stomach ,glandular stomach and small intestine were decreased ; the relative weight of spleen and cloacal bursa were increased; the relative viscosity of intestinal digesta were significantly decreased by 11.92%(P<0.05) and 7.29%(P>0.05) respectively; and the excreta moisture content were significantly decreased (PO.05).Containing pentosanase in the Hetao wheat diets have a better effect on the performance of the broilers than that of the Beijing wheat diets.Experiment III 64 adult cock with similar weigh(about 1.5 kg) were divided into 4 group.There were 4 replicates per group with 4 broilers.Four diets similar to that of the 22-42day diets in Experiment II were given respectively to each group .The results showed that pentosanase can improve the AME of Hetao wheat diets by 6.63%(P<0.05) and Beijing wheat diets by 1.99%(P>0.05).
