Nowadays, the application of Fiber reinforced plastic materials (FRP) in civil engineering is a hot field of research and development of the international civil engineering, among which the technology making carbon-fiber material (CFRP) to strengthen and to repair concrete structures is the most popular way to use.In this paper, based on 10 CFRP sheet-strengthened beams, the flexural failure properties are studied, the influence the CFRP sheet made to load capacity, deflection and crack distribution are analyzed; the factors that affect the reinforcement effect including reinforcement approach , carbon fiber sheet content, mode of loading are also studied. When test beams damage in of the range of Non-bonded reinforced beam damages (CFRP sheet fracture or concrete crushing), the load capacity calculation method is derived. The results show that concrete beams reinforced by carbon fiber sheet can significantly improve the flexural capacity; carbon fiber sheet can also effectively improve the distribution pattern of cracks in the bottom of beams. The code formulae are used to analyze the results, and the ANSYS software are used to simulate the load and failure circumstance. The load - deflection curve results of the reinforced beams between the experimental and the ANSYS theory analysis match well. In the end , a summary of the paper is made and questions worthy of further study are proposed.
