As a primary pattern of mechanism drive, gear drive is widely used in technology industry and can fully indicate the level of technology. Although various kinds of techniques have been enjoying fast development in modern society, gear drive still plays an important role. Nowadays, it is not considered as a single discipline any more and the application of computer science has provided people with useful means for the research of gear and far more new research fields.In this paper, a set of mathematical models were established which can be well applied to computer calculation based on plane and spatial meshing analysis. It includes the calculating models of plane conjugate tooth profile, contact line, transition curve, slip ratio; the calculating models of helical surface machining principle, helical surface machining by rotational tool, seeking tool's rotational surface according to helical surface given; the calculating models such as the establishment and move relationship of space meshing coordinate system, seeking the corresponding surface reduced curvature according to the first curved surface curvature and the second curved surface conjugate moving, and it also contains the calculating models of unit tangential vector, main normal vector, assistant normal vector of space curve relevant to conjugate surface curvature analysis, curvature and warp curvature, normal curvature for one point on surface, the curvature on tangential plane, the warp curvature on tangential plane, geometrical angular velocity of curved surface trihedron along the curve on surface, relationship of angular velocity of each tangential direction, main curvature and main direction through any point on surface and reduced curvature.Gear meshing analysis software was developed through making use of Visual Basic together with MATLAB, which relates to meshing analytical issues of multi gear-types, worm gear meshing of multi tooth profiles and the calculation of its corresponding cutter tooth profile. Visual Basic was chosen as the tool in this study; therefore, we can take advantage of its convenience of establishing user interface, concise language, high speed development and good compatibility. The dynamic link was established by the utilization of COM editor and MATLAB which has been acknowledged to be outstanding scientific calculation software. Because of these aspects mentioned above, the security of algorithm, port operation and fact control were achieved and an introduction was made in detail on the issues of interface port between them.
