Air spring utilize the compressibility of air to realize its elasticity. The air pressure of compressed air can automatic regulate according to the vehicle's loading and the condition of the road, so the height of the vehicle dosen't vary too large either full-load or no-load. Air suspension can improve the vehicle's ride comfort effectively. Because air suspension has favourable performance so it possesses comprehensive development and application prospect in automotive suspension. The thesis chief aimed at two key problems relate to the air suspension system to proceed systemic theoretical analysis and simulation study. The two key problems were elastic property of air spring and features of semi-trailer's air suspension.The thesis firstly looked up a certain amount of research literatures about air spring and air suspension and comprehended some domestic relevant enterprise, then systemic presented domestic and abroad research status on air suspension, various forms of air suspension's structuration and service condition of air suspension in vehicle. The elastic property curves of air spring is the most important dynamic feature of air suspension, it is the crux for simulation study and features research on air suspension. In order to obtain the elastic property curves of air spring, we tested the chosen air spring by elastic property experiment. We fitted the experiment's data and obtain the elastic property curves of air spring with different standard internal pressure.The thesis bonded the chosen air spring to respective utilize theoretical derivation and finite element analysis to research the elastic property. At last, we comprehensively compared and analyzed the test curve,the theoretical arithmetic curve and the finite element simulation curve. The conclusion was rational to the design and analyses of air spring's templet.Theoretical deduced the formula for the vertical rate characteristics of air suspension, and figured out the vertical rate characteristics curves. The air suspension and original leaf spring suspension multi-body dynamics virtual prototype models were setted up based on the ADAMS/Car platform. Simulated the vertical rate characteristics of air suspension and leaf spring suspension. Compared the diversity of the vertical rate characteristics between these two types suspension. Computed and obtained the vertical acceleration and dynamic stroke root mean square values of air suspension in Matlab platform based on the double quality vibration system calculation model for air suspension of semi-trailer.
