The rapid development of the small and medium cities increases the volume of the cleaning tasks of public facilities such as municipal roads, squares, residential areas, parks and enterprises. So the appropriate type of sweepers needs to be selected for different roads' characteristics. Based on this, Chang'an University and Tianxin Company co-developed the QS5020 small-sized sweeper. This suction sweeper adopts the bimotored pattern and has the advantages of small shape, low price and flexibility, which is mainly used to the cleaning job of municipal roads, squares and housing estates. It fills the blank space of the marketplace.According to the technical requirements of the small-sized sweeper, this paper determines the design patterns and makes the parameter selection and calculation of the working device. Then, this paper analyses the joint working conditions of the fan and the pipeline system and proposes the best matching points of the vice-engine, the fan and the hydraulic pump which is based on the operating features of the vice-engine, the fan and the hydraulic pump of the sweeper. This paper also analyses the joint adjustment method of the constant power matching and the variable power matching of the vice-engine under the changed working conditions of the sweeper and proposed the corresponding control strategy.In addition, this paper obtions the factors which affect the sweeper's cleaning efficiency through experiment and also theoretically analyses the influence of cleaning speed, the air flow of the fan and the rotating speed of the dish brush to the cleaning efficiency. The result suggests that the increasing air flow of the fan, the faster rotating speed of the dish brush and the lower cleaning speed can improve the cleaning efficiency. To find the quantitative relation between the three aspects and the cleaning efficiency, this paper obtions the empirical formula with the Eview3.1 Software. Finaly, this paper optimizes the operating parameters using the Matlab Software's optimized design tool and obtains the best association among them.This theory will play a guiding role to the design and optimization of the QS5020 small-sized sweeper in this subject.
