In the past decade, although the technology of substation operation has been improved by the development of integrated substation automation technology and the controllability and reliability of substation automation system has been ameliorated gradually, in the aspect of data interaction, the communication between devices of different manufacturers is hard to interconnect each other because of being different in regulations. It results in being long in system time response and bad in stability, the efficiency of substation automation system has been affected in certain extent. The foundation has been made for realizing the unified information modeling in substation by issuance and implementation of IEC61850 standard.The research objective is to establish the communication models based on IEC61850 standard for substation automation system. All the previous traditional studies are limited to establish the model for specified concrete devices. In this paper, the system model is divided into two parts that one is the entity model, and another is the communication service model. The functional model of specifid concrete device and its data exchange services has been established separately. Intelligent electronic device model and abstract communication service interface and its Information Exchange Service have also been established by means of central thought of "class". It has been generally realized to the logic connection and data exchange of the system by means of the smallest functional unit or logical node from the angle of theory hierarchy. This paper has completed the following works.â‘ Summarized and proposed a new method of the communication modeling for the substation automation system based on the research such as system framework, system structure, function decomposition, information model, abstract communication service interface and substation automation system configuration description language of IEC61850 standard.â‘¡To the function of the control and protection for the transformer entity model, select the logical node CSWI (switch controller) and MMXU (measurement), the function model of the Monitoring and measurement data mapping is established, and the actual data mapping of the logic node of switch controller and measurement has been designed and realized.â‘¢It has been designed by hint of abstract communication service interface how to exchange data to GOOSE (generic object oriented substation event) and SVC (sample value control) by means of object-oriented. And it has been completed to the service mapping modeling for abstract communication service interface (ACSI) aimed at the above mentioned two models.â‘£It has been described to the substation section, IED, communication systems, data and its data attributes by means of the substation automation system configuration description language in a substation automation system for 220kV. And the configuratting of data communication model has been completed.
