Today, because of a better economy and emissions, hybrid is an important direction in the field of buses which are energy conservation and environmental protection in our country. As opposed to pure electric, the technology of hybrid is more mature. So, it has important actual significance and practical value.The application of CNG-electric hybrid on buses is researched deeply in this paper. Then based on the CNG-electric hybrid bus, the paper makes some research on the structure and the components of the powertrain system, and about matching and optimizing of the powertrain's parameters. Simulation model of the CNG-electric hybrid bus is established, and the prototype and test trial are analyzed and discussed.â‘ It is decided that a parallel schedule is used on the CNG-electric hybrid bus after an analysis of different structural types in hybrid electric bus, which refers to costs, operating conditions, performance and development of technical conditions of the bus. Then, different kinds of control strategies in parallel hybrid electric bus are analyzed and compared, and the power assist control strategy is selected while its target is fuel economy.â‘¡By analyzing the operating characteristics of major components in the powertrain system, based on the control strategy and vehicle operating conditions, the preliminary matching for CNG-electric hybrid bus powertrain parameters is made which aims to vehicle dynamic performance.â‘¢It is introduced that the characteristics of the rear-drive bus in this chapter. Then, the SIMULINK models of CNG-electric hybrid bus powertrain and main components are established, as well as the control strategy. And embed the models into the simulation software of ADVISOR2002 for simulation.â‘£The method of CNG-electric hybrid bus powertrain optimization is brought which based on orthogonal experimental. Through the simulation software of ADVISOR2002, the key parameters of the powertrain are optimized which target is economic indicators.Finally, the test on key components of CNG-electric hybrid bus powertrain system and the type approval test of the sample bus are setting. The results show that the basic properties of the powertrain for CNG-electric hybrid bus meet the relevant requirements, which is verification for the method of optimal design used in this paper. It is reasonable and correct, and it will provide the necessary conditions for industrialization of the CNG-electric hybrid bus.
