Micro explosive trains is causing the concern for researchers more and more, along with the development of modern weapons. Since the new century,the flyer initiation have been widely applied on the nuclear weapons,fiber optic-guided missile,tandem warhead aeronautics and astronautics fields. The flyer initiation is considered as the best ideal initiator in the ordnance detonating systems. So, it is of great meaning to test flyer speed driven by small-charge diameter with and study on its influencing factors.This paper has analyzed the current research situation of flyer initiation and the development of electromagnetic method testing techniques. It has theoretically derived the formula of the small-diameter explosive charge flyer velocity. It also test the flyer velocity by electromagnetic method and study the rule of small-diameter charge driving flyer. The results show that, the charge weight, the charge size, the flyer weight, the flyer thickness, the shear stress and air resistance are the most influencing factors of the flyer speed. With the flyer material, flyer thickness and the constraint are fixed, the bigger diameter charge is, the bigger flyer velocity is.The position of maximal flyer velocity is forward lead. With the diameter charge and the constraint are fixed, the bigger flyer material density is, the smaller flyer velocity is. With the diameter charge, constraint and flyer material are fixed, the bigger flyer material density is, the smaller flyer velocity is. Flyer speed increases with the growth of flight distance at at first. When the flyer velocity reached the maximum, the flyer speed decreases with the growth of flight distance. The next propellant can be credibility initiated by adjusting the flyer material, the flyer thickness and the diameter charge. The results can be used for micro-initiating system. It can provide theoretical and technical support for the booster explosive and reliable initiation and propagation of detonation.
