The road surface's comprehensive properties can be improved obviously.Bying a great lot literature data, it can be known that SMA is mainly used as surface course of new highway, seldom used in reconstrution. The main research contents is how to use SMA in Surface project finely.On the basis of Guangzhou-Shaoguang expressway, starting with the practical engineering, surveyed is done about primary pavement's damage condition, and annlysised the cause of damage condition, studyed calculation method of overlay thickness. Target proportioning is maked in labortory, and production proportion is determined in Da Zhen mix plant by lots of experiment, and used in engineering consturction.Deflection theory is utilized, and used HMPD to calculate the thickness of level layer and overlay, introduced is done about the research status and mechanism of SMA aphlat mixture. According to production of SMA and construction process, target control is put forward about master operation. The master operation includes raw material, mixing process, transportation, paving, rolling and so on.The method of SMA overlay, the given thickness, mix proportion, the control temperature of mixture are applied partly in Guangzhou-Shaoguang expressway.
