Mixing and compaction temperature is an important influence factor of asphalt mixture design and quality control, which directly affect the result of mixture design, construction quality of asphalt pavement and pavement performance. Therefore, it is very important to select reasonable mixing and compaction temperature. According to the temperature which mixture obtained the optimum effect of compaction and viscosity shear rate relation, a shear rate 60(l/s) was estimated. Under the estimated shear rate, the viscosity of modified asphalt at different temperature was tested. Based on the test results, a viscosity temperature curve can be obtained. Mixing and compaction temperature is the temperature corresponding to viscosities of 0.17± 0.02Pa.s and 0.28 ±0.03Pa.s. Experiment results indicated that the method of determining mixing and compaction temperature in this report is reasonable. This report researched the methods of mixture design, and also analysed Shaping methods and compaction temperature to influence mixture volumetric parameter and investigated the test and calculation method of volumetric parameter to influence mixture design parameter. This report also put forward some suggests for modified asphalt mixture design using the Marshal mixture design method. This report studied the pavement performance of modified asphalt mixture and discussed the lab evaluation methods of modified asphalt mixture and the evaluation parameters.
