The manufacturing has not only brought for the mankind a large number of wealth, it has also brought serious environmental pollution, resources and energy over consumption. In order to meet the needs of sustainable development, the manufacturing must be as efficient as possible to use of the limited resources and reduce environmental pollution. Green manufacturing is a modern enterprise for sustainable development model, it has significant social and economic benefits and it will become an important feature of the manufacturing in this century. Green process planning is the key technology in implementing green manufacturing. It has very great significance in the process of reducing the resource consumption and decreasing the waster emission. At present, most of the studies in green process planning also limited to theoretical methods of research and lack of systematic research and-engineering applications in green manufacturing technologies.In this paper, the basic concepts of mechanical machining process planning was introduced, at the same time the research system of green manufacturing oriented to mechanical machining process planning was described. The resource depletion and environmental situation in machining process were analyzed; the mechanical processing green manufacturing evaluation method is studied.
