MengCheng county of Anhui province is located in the central of Huaibei Plain, which has a great population and bad water environment.The water supply of MengCheng county town had changed to groundwater source because Guo River's water was serious polluted since 1993. With the rapid economical development and continuous expansion of urban areas,MengCheng county town's water supply network is becoming more and more huge and complex under the circumstance of drinking water shortage.At the same time,some advanced techniques have not been used widely and timely in water supply management,which undoubtedly constrained the sustainable development of economic construction in MengCheng. Consequently,MengCheng county town is certain representativeness as one of bad water situation regions about the research of water supply management in Anhui province.The water supply network digital management system is an example of the GIS technology specific application in water supply management.The establishment of the water supply network digital management system's main aim to achieve the digital management of Mengcheng county town's water supply network.The powerful function of GIS analysis,simulation and prediction were utilized to provide powerful decision support for water supply pipe network planning and design,construction,rush repairs and optimal operation in various operation states.This article take MengCheng county town and the countries surrounding of it which cover by the water supply network as research areas,and establish the status and short-range planning of water supply network digital management system. Based on ArcGIS platform,and Visual Basic and MapObjects were used for integrated secondary development.The maps and water supply network information of MengCheng county town were taken as collecting subjects.According to the system's overall aims,designing principles and the basic available information, combine with water supply network data analysis,the system's whole framework was given.Especially,a multi-level Breadth-First Search algorithm based of the valve-off optimization solutions is proposed by analyzed of valve-off module for pipe burst in detail and used of graph theory approach.Finally,the system had be realization based on conditions mentioned above,and applied to water supply management in MengCheng county town successfully.
