In the thesis,on the basis of the UG drawings,a geometric model of the full scale coach-frame was firstly established utilizing ANSYS. Then,by using beam element and MPC184 element,the finite element model for strength analysis was setup and simplified. Considering four typical operation situation,such as bending condition, torsion condition, emergent turning condition and emergent braking condition, strength of the structure was calculated. At last modal analysis for the coach-body frame,thtough which the natural frequence and the vibration modes of the structure were gained,was done in order to provide theoretical support for lightweight of the structure.The lightweight scheme,discussed in this paper,was made based on static and dynamic analysis , and also based upon experience of related research and engineering practice. According to the scheme,176.3 Kg of the coach-body frame weight was reduced,which was 6.95% of the coach-body frame. Through the CAE analysis for the lightweight frame, the requirements for the stiffness and stress distribution of the structure was met.The calculating results proved that the finite element model established in the article was rational and the analysis was correct,which could be used in guiding the design of the coach-frame and evaluating the performance of the structure.
