With the increasing of autos, traffic accident has became a world-wide social problem. There are lots of peoples'lives and a great amount of wealth lost made by traffic accident in the world. According to domestic situation, we can find that the truck, especially the light-duty truck has a higher accident rate and damage, but there is little research on crashworthiness of the truck. The light-duty trucks have their own advantages, so they are widely used by consumers. Thus the security of the truck should have brought the attention from every direction including the country, manufacturers and the consumers, etc.Although the flat-face light truck is cheap and widely used, the high accident rate and serious damage is the bottleneck of its development. This paper makes use of Hypermesh and LS-DYNA finite element analysis tool to conduct a simulation analysis of frontal impact pendulum in accordance with European Community regulations ECER 29, analyses the assembly deformation, energy absorption as well as occupant survival space and puts forward to improve the performance of automobile collision-resistant design of structural improvements.According to the regulation of GB 17354—1998,we accomplished the process of simulation for the crash between pendulum and bumper, After carefully analyzing the bumper's absorbing energy and dynamic characteristics, suggestions are given to improve the crashworthiness of the bumper.This paper conducts a simulation analysis of frontal pendulum impact in accordance with GB 17354—1998...
