The landform is the most importance elements in the landscape. It is not only the foundation and the bottom interface, but also the skeleton of the whole landscape. It seems that people have ignored the most primitive response to the landform, When we constantly emphasizing the skeletal, engineering and ecological significance of the landform. The aesthetic significance or the social significance is not exhumed of the landform especially in the urban landscape construction. This thesis emphasizes the interaction between landscape landform and people by human perceptual level. Through this research to highlight the relationship between people and landform, then to suggest the designers to concern about the potential of the landform and to maximize the mobilization of people for consciousness and emotional response. This thesis has four parts. The first part reviews the current situation about the theory of landscape perception at home and abroad. It also explains domestic inadequacies in this research, and presents the background, significance, methods, and ideas of this study. The second part of the second and third chapters, summarizing the theory of perception of the landscape landform, elaborates on the contents of the landform perception. It includes spatial perception, time perception and emotional response. The third part brings forth a new suggestion that we should promote the interaction between people and landform to strengthen the landform perception. The interaction has an important role in the contemporary landscape design. The interaction of people and landscape includes consciousness interaction, space-time interaction and the deep interaction. The forth part of the fifth and sixth chapters, studying the application of landform design from the good practical project and the author's own project, in order to provide reference and inspiration for a variety of landform design.Although this thesis advocates to strengthening the meaning of the landform perception, but not to one-sided promote or blindly pursue the sensory effects. A good landform design not only need to meet the existing topography, satisfy the functional requirements and coordinate the overall environment, but also dig out the most profound relevance between landform and people. Of course, the designers should continue to developing their imagination and creativity.
