| The development and improvement of modern human society causes our demand on energy growing rapidly. The fossil fuels will be exhausted in the near future, however the wind power and solar energy are inexhaustible renewable energy. In the most cases, the exploitation of wind and solar energy takes the way of grid-connected PV system and wind power farm. But the districts meet the requirement of this kind of concentrated exploitation are rarely limited. In the most ordinary area, especially the densely populated area, the hybrid exploitation of wind and solar energy which have the complementary advantages can lower the threshold of renewable exploitation. Today the hybrid wind and solar energy generation technology has widely been used on mobile telephone base station and street lamp. The hybrid wind and solar street lamp can save energy for the city.This paper firstly studied the V-I characteristic of solar PV battery and proposed a kind of DC-DC chopper as the main circuit of PV charger controller. Then a kind of voltage hysteresis control method for the PV charger controller based on PIC microcontroller is introduced. Buck-Boost converter is designed as the main circuit of wind charger controller. When the wind speed is low, the Buck-Boost converter works as Boost converter to improve the utilization of low speed wind. When the wind speed is high, the Buck-Boost converter works as Buck converter to improve the efficiency of wind power capture. On the management of batteries, the battery charging and discharging controller detects the voltage of battery in real-time. When the battery voltage rises beyond the configured overcharge voltage, the battery charging and discharging controller will stop wind and PV charger controller instantly. When the battery voltage falls under the configured over-discharge voltage, the controller will turn lights off. The battery charging and discharging controller uses clock IC DS12887 to control the lamp on and off automatically. The function of battery charging and discharging controller is accomplished by a host device. A hand-held device is designed for users to configure and display the parameters from host device. |
