The active suspension can get the best comfortable and handling stability in variable running situation. The essential of active suspension is setting a autocontrol force generator between wheel and car frame, and it can make car body keep the least response all the time when suffer the random prompting coming from road, and it can satisfy the requiement that low pressure about tire contact road.The current active suspension actuator have many shortcoming, such as slow response, more energy consumption, low efficiency of storage energy, bad reliability, making the suspension frame more complex. For avoiding above shortcoming, the electromagnetic actuator is used. The electromagnetic actuator has some advantage, such as small bulk, fast response, high precision, no contact friction, no lubricating, good controllability, energy callback and so on.Introduce the development of electromagnetic actuator in this paper. Base on the working principle and influencing factors of electromagnetic actuator, the electromagnetic actuator's framework and magnetic field are designed. Build the math model and FEM model of electromagnetic actuator, compare the three model, the simulation result indicate: the FLUX model and ANSOFT model get the very similar electromagnetic force curve, the math model's force have the same trendline and steady value except the force wave is a little small. So we think the three model is equivalent. Using these model, researching the different output characteristic in detail when input different framework, material and electric parameter. Get the value and rule that force change with electromagnetic actuator parameter, these rule can supply the optimum design of electromagnetic actuator with method and advice .Trial-produce the electromagnetic actuator, then do some test measure in variable line voltage, the test result is consistent with simulation.The transient thermal field was analyzed, get the temperature distribution curve for electromagnetic actuator.
