Geosynthetics are widely used in highway waterproofing and drainage facilities. Effective use of geosynthetics can not only meet the needs of a variety of projects, but also conducive to the effective use of material resources, improve project quality and reduce costs in order to achieve better economic results. With the application of geosynthetics in China increasingly wide range of geosynthetic materials are increasingly in-depth, geosynthetics in highway waterproofing and drainage design has played a pivotal role.In recent years, geosynthetic materials used in highway waterproofing and drainage facilities appears to be more and more number of new products are emerging, and existing standards have been many aspects of the specification can not meet the new waterproofing and drainage of geosynthetics drainage requirements, Therefore, prevention of geosynthetics waterproofing and drainage properties and applied research is an ongoing process forward.Articles in the current domestic and international geosynthetics products, performance indicators, based on extensive research, the paper summed up the defense of geosynthetics in highway waterproofing and drainage facilities in the applied research and found some new problems to be solved. Emerging new composite geotextile waterproofing and drainage material of the selection methods, performance requirements, applications, application type, construction method and its drainage capacity of indicators to determine the current no uniform standard.
