Traditional garden plant landscaping is a major approach to create natural spaces of gardens, which dynamically integrates plant landscape with traditional natural perspective and social cultural perspective to form a unique design concept and design technique. However, the traditional plant landscaping concept and design techniques can no longer meet the demands of the development of the times due to the social development and the continuous changes in aesthetic tastes. Especially, following the disciplinary integration, plant landscaping design techniques are influenced by technical materials, modern arts, ecology and other disciplines on varied aspects. Therefore, it's necessary to establish novel modern plant landscaping theories and techniques, and it will effectively facilitate the development of modern urban plant landscaping. And this paper takes the comparison between traditional and modern plant landscaping design techniques as the cut-in point, and combines relevant disciplines to study and discuss plant landscaping design techniques.The following contents are included in the paper focusing on this objective:1. the basic conception of modern plant landscaping is defined theoretically and the course and achievements of landscaping development are described; 2. the influence of multi-disciplinary theories is discussed in details by combining technological development, multi-culture, ecology, etc; 3. the differences between traditional and modern plant landscaping techniques are discussed based on a great number of examples to explore the gist of plant landscaping techniques; and 4. the development trend of modern plant landscaping design techniques is summarized at the end of the paper, and the strategy for the future plant landscaping and the trend of future development are put forward to provide designers with some information for comparison. Meanwhile, a classification list of plants frequently used is also attached at the end of the paper for reference. |
