Hyperbolic cooling-towers is important buildings in industrial production, its security and stability related to industrial production, and the smooth progress of the country's economic development. Cooling-tower structure mainly affect by wind loads, gravity, seismic, and temperature effects. It is 250m in height and the diameter is 200m.The height is exceed 150m which provision in the《Code for hydraulic design of fossil fuel power plants》. The height is exceed 165m which provision in the《Code for design of cooling for in dustrial recirculating water》. As the scale increases, the original tower is not important for the small effect on the tower becomes more important, such as earthquakes. A lot of damage at home and abroad show that the structure moderate or strong earthquake action, will cause serious damage. Power plant cooling tower is an important hydraulic structures, seismic performance should have higher. The tructure of the earthquake research has important theoretical value and engineering significance. The mechanical characteristics of the structure and the weak part of the other information has be got by under earthquake research and design units of data. ABAQUS6.8 finite element software was used to ansys the structure.Include modal Analysis of hyperbolic cooling tower, seismic response spectrum analysis. Mechanical characteristics of deformation, some weak has be Studied.Transient responses and spectrum anaslysis responses of cooling-tower under EL-Centro,Tianjin, Artificial seisimic waves are calculated by ABAQUS. Finally the results summarized thesis that the mechanical characteristics of the structure, applicability, etc.
