Power battery as a power source or standby power plays an increasingly important role in people's daily life, but judging the quality of battery and group technology of battery is very difficult for battery application. Performance testing is the basis for battery application. With the expansion of battery application fields, the demand of batteries increases rapidly, so does the demand of battery testing equipment. The battery testing facilities made domestically can only test a few of the parameters, and their data-processing capacity is too limit. The testing equipments made abroad have limitation for battery testing, and their price is extremely high. Under such condition, a battery testing platform is designed in this paper, which includes the batteries to be tested, the charging and discharging equipment, the battery data acquisition system and the computer control system. The design of the subsystems of data acquisition, computer control, and real-time communication between them are discussed in detail. On the one hand, it can achieve the high speed and high precision detection for the battery voltage, current, temperature, capacity, energy and other basic physical parameters. On the other hand, it provides an open interface as research support for the analysis of battery performance, the algorithm of charge control and the analysis of life cycle.The voltage of individual cell, the total voltage of cell group, the temperature, the current and the charge-discharge capacity of battery pack can be accurately measured by the battery data acquisition system, in which the MC9S12DT128B microcontroller is used as the core. It can provide data support for battery performance analysis. The system has the battery over voltage/under-voltage hardware protect functions, and the function of cell voltage balancing. The computer control system obtains required real-time data from the data acquisition system through RS-232. The computer displays and stores the data to the database. The active status of the charging and discharging equipment and the protecting parameters can be set on the human-machine interface to ensure the safety of charging and discharging process.The experimental verification show that this system works well and reach to the design requirement.
