Although subway vehicle is small chance of catastrophic collisions in case of accidents, there will very serious consequences if an accident happens. From the vehicle body structures design and passive safety protection point of view, the study on the crashworthiness and the energy absorption structures performance with large impact deformation is very useful to improve the safety level for railway vehicles.The research focuses on problems of subway vehicle for the Beijing Fangshan to complete the works as follows.1. According to the Beijing Subway Fangshan line vehicle's original design. Vehicle's geometry model is formed, of which the shell structure is the main skin and steel structure made by welding.According the vehicle collision standards for design, determining the evaluation criteria of vehicle collision simulation conditions and crashworthiness.2. FEM model of vehicle is formed by controlling the element quality, contact setting and material parameters. Equivalent FEM model of the front coupler is formed which full account of the front coupler's structure, design, energy absorption processes. Based on the above,the vehicle's collision is simulated.3. Study on the vehicle crashed into a rigid wall and two vehicles crashed together, these two evaluation conditions. With the simulation results at 5km/h,15km/h,25km/h, compare the stress wave propagation, energy absorption, acceleration and deformation crushing of vehicle and front structure of vehicle. On one hand numerical representation of the mechanical bearing structure collision state, on the other hand, evaluate the design of vehicle's front structure meet the requirements or not.4. Based on the simulation results of the thin-walled structures energy absorption performance, study on the influence of material, section and induce mechanism on the energy absorption, then improved the vehicle's front energy absorption structure, used the simulation method to evaluate the improved structure.Due to the above work, suggest some advices on the Beijing Fangshan line subway vehicle's front structure design in terms of material, sections, installation position.
