Analysis On The Countermeasures To The Traffic Demand Management Of Changsha City

While urban mass transportation infrastructure construction are being carried on, the development induces the improvement of a large number of cars, and further stimulates the growth of traffic demand, so that not only does that not ease traffic congestion conditions, but it becomes more serious and thus falls into the growth in motor vehicles-environmental degradation-the construction of roads-then the vicious cycle of deterioration again. After 80 years of the 20th century, traffic engineering experts recognized that urban traffic supply and demand imbalance was the essence of urban traffic congestion, so, if we adopt traffic supply-side policies alone, it is difficult to fundamentally solve the urban transport in the contradiction of supply and demand imbalance.So, it proposed (TDM) traffic demand management concept, clearly solve traffic congestion problems from the demand and supply of ideas.TDM concept formation, development still need continuous improvement.The main contents include theoretical analysis of TDM, ChangSha Urban Traffic Analysis, the status of domestic and international traffic demand management, TDM strategies and measures, TDM strategic response in ChangSha City.After Analysis of the traffic demand in the concept of specificity, we make deeper analysis of traffic demand, the relationship between dynamic traffic and static traffic,supply and demand equilibrium theory, economics and operating mechanism.Through experience of Domestic implementation of the TDM and previous research results, besides the actual urban traffic ChangSha, the text proposes measures to implement TDM strategies for implementation of ChangSha "smooth traffic project" and the comprehensive management problems of traffic in ChangSha, which put up theory for achieving Sustainable development of urban transport.
