The network system voltage problems are gradually exposed with the rapid increase of the wind power and turbine capacity which in the proportion of the grid. The thesis derives mathematical models of wind power systems and using Matlab/Simulink builds wind turbine generating systems (WTGS) (or wind farms) in the transient model. This paper studies the operation characteristics of WTGS and grid voltage after the wind power connected to the system. Through the derivation of steady-state models of WTGS, the calculation of power flow in distribution network which contain wind turbine will be capable of effective and fast. A genetic algorithm considered WTGS is proposed and applied to solve the reactive power optimization problem. The study cases and simulations show that the proposed methods and models are correct and effective.
