At present, the coarse aggregate used for anti-slide surface of asphalt pavement,mainly are basalt and granite,Chongqing is lack of hard stone such as basalt, but rich in limestone and sandstone,during the construction of Yuxiang highway,the construction costs may be high if the coarse aggregate such as basalt and granite are bought from other areas.Therefore, the search for a local material used for wear course of the highway pavement must be solved.In this paper,limestone materials for wear course of the highway pavement had been studied,and article aslo evaluated the anti-sliding and wear-resistant performace of the asphalt mixtures of limestone using the small-wheel acceletated wearing and polished machine.This paper mainly studied the use of the limestone in wear course of the highway pavement from two aspects: aggregate characteristics and the composition of asphalt mix,in combination with the actual project of Yuxiang highway.On the one hand, through a large number of indoor testings, the article studied and compared the physical and mechanical properties, the anti-sliding and wear-resistant performance of the limestone, sandstone, basalt and granite,the study, showed that: The limestone belongs to hard rock;All the anti-sliding and wear-resistant indexes can meet to the requirement of the specific;Combined anti-sliding and wear-resistant performance of the aggregate and the mixture,the anti-sliding and wear-resistant performance of the limestone is 60.0 per to basalt's; Using limestone in the wear course of the highway pavement is feasible in the technology.On the other hand,the anti-sliding and wear-resistant performace of the asphalt mixtures of different aggregate have been studied, using the small-wheel acceletated wearing and polished machine,in the same time, the asphalt mixtures of limestone using different gradation aslo has been studied,it aslo proposed and proved the formula of using aggregate fineness modulus to estimate the MTD . The research results has some reference value to predicting the anti-sliding performance of the road.
