Mongolian take shape its unique architectural style and folk features according to the characteristics of Mongolian plateau environment. Its architecture cultural comes today from the ancient with large stage of history of northern nomadic culture as the background and with Mongolia's culture as inside. The typical is the traditional yurt. It makes people feel the profound cultural atmosphere as well as the change development of modern civilization from patterns, colors, materials, production processes, folk background, which has important significance to the Design of modern Mongolian style. In this paper, the architectural elements of Mongolian yurt and folk features are researched and analyzed, which aimed at carrying forward Chinese national culture, and continuing and developing the essence of Mongolian traditional architectural elements.The article, on the basis of researching past and present of Mongolian construction as well as mining its causes and characteristics, through consulting literature and field-work, is to explore the cultural adaptation and change which is embodied in Mongolian architecture. The basic elements of Mongolian architecture are summarized and extracted, which provides theoretical evidence for further study and application of modern design. Summary in reviewing the historical foundation of yurt architectural elements used by Chinese and foreign construction and in the design of grassland tourism resort, are used to explore elements of Mongolian architecture. The paper is striving to reflect Mongolian cultural connotation, at the same time, trying hard to make rational use of new materials and structure connection, which can make the design have bright inside story of Mongolian culture and satisfy the need of modern tourism and modern aesthetic.
