A Study Of The Inheritance And Development Of Regional Culture In Landscape Design

With the accelerated process of globlization and industrialization, the pace of our urban landscpe construction is paralleling at the same time. However, how to hand down and escalate the regional culture in the development of landscape design, how to reveal and embody regional culture and how to treat the connections between reginional culture and alienate culture, etc, are some need-to-be-explored puzzles for designers.The author, in this paper, demonstrates that regional culture has been an essential factor in contemporary landscape designs and promotes a designing style with regional cultural innovations. In order to make the theory to be convinced, the author take the inheritance and development of regional culture in the process of landscape design as a basis, make necessary statement on the concept of regionalization and landscape design, of landscape design development and application, and also combine the Jinan city's regional culture to make analysis. Therefore, through the author's example description and analysis of Jinan city, readers can have a complete and systematic overview of the history of regional culture inheritance and development in landscape design.The author sets up the paper study into the following sections. First, through some basic research and analysis on the concepts and applications of regional culture and landscape design, the author concludes clearly that regional culture has been playing an integral role in contemporary urban landscape construction and hold a decisive position in the evolution of urban landscape. Second, with regards to the survival and developemt crisis some Chinese historically antient cities sufferd in the course of accelerating globlization, the author explores an way out for China's future landscape, that is, to make regional cultural urban landscape, and proposes several basic principles and methods to protect, select and use regional culture. Thirdly, the author takes Jinan city as an example, by comparing the times before and after 1949, and the times during 1980s and 1990s, makes an detailed analysis of the city's urban form and culture and enters into the conclusion that Jinan city, in the past hundred years, made natural landscape perfectly combined with the urban economic and social development, which is a great value for China's urban landscape construction.The conclusion of this study paper is that inheritance and development of regional culture has been a major concern for contemporary landscape design. we should, when make landscape design, respect natural and historical conditions, cherish historical and human environment, optionally reserve regional charactorictics in designing so as to reach the ideal of "the more national and regional design it is, the more globle and popular it represents."...
