Urbanization in China is now coincided with the peak period, the existing civil building area is more than 400 million square meters, by 2020, will add about 100-150 billion square meters. At present, China's building energy consumption accounts for nearly 30% of total energy consumption of society, by 2020 this value is expected to reach 40%. In all building types, residential proportion reached about 70%, and its energy consumption has reached 70%-80% of civil building consumption. Compared with developed countries, we have less resources average, but the building energy consumption is 2-3 times more than theirs, so energy-efficient buildings is essential for economic development, and residential energy conservation should be the focus of energy conservation. In recent years our government has introduced affordable housing policies to address low-income housing issues. Affordable housing, in the process of classification of security that the Government on the implementation of low-income families is provided by the limited supply of objects, building standards, selling prices or rents, the nature of the housing with social security. Compared with ordinary commercial housing, affordable housing,of which restricted the cost, will promote the future development of low-cost housing. For architects, need to note that low cost does not mean low comfort, need to meet the comfort requirements while, but also meet the energy efficient design standards. On the residential energy-efficient design, from theory to techniques already have a lot of research results, but the long study which only participated by technical staff, resulted in a gap between theoretical study and practical application. Look at the entire life cycle from construction, building energy use affect the vast majority of decision-making occur in the project design phase, the architect responsible for building energy should play an important responsibility. To take on building energy efficiency of existing energy-efficient means of inspection are end treatment and the effect is very limited, and only from the architectural design of the "front end" is in order to improve energy efficiency. Architectural design process for the application of less energy efficient design status, this essay studied how architects can design the stage energy as an important design consideration,in considering the scope of the construction cost, the use of computer simulation of the secondary analysis, to optimize the construction program designed to ultimately reduce the building's energy consumption, to achieve conservation of energy.
