Equal angle members connected by one leg have been widely used in transmission towers. Although Equal angle members connected by one leg appear to be very simple structural elements, they are amongst the most complex of structural elements to analyze. The study on high strength equal angle compression members connected by one leg is just a beginning. The test has been carried out on high strength equal angle compression members eccentrically at one end connected by one leg in order to investigate the behavior of the compression members. The test contained 16 groups of specimen in total. Each group had three components including four kinds of cross-section specification (L125×10, L140×12, L160×10, L160×12) and four kinds of slenderness ratio (30,45,60,80) of the angle. The specimens was eccentrically compressed at one end and axially compressed at the other end. The angle was connected with the end connecting plate using high-strength bolt connections at the end with the eccentrically compression.Furthermore finite element method analysis has been conducted for the specimens. By comparing the FEM results, the test results and the design strengths obtained using different codes, some rational revise is recommended for the code of "DL/T5154-2002"...
