Abstract/Summary:
The filling up of reservoir is one global problem, which on one hand cause the safety problem and decreases the reservoir profits, on the other hand exists as one threat to the life and property in the downstream.Therefore, the sediment deposition treatment and deep research on the relative subjects and become even more important for the experts who study on sediment.This study evaluates the operation mode of Sanmenxia Reservoir based on the RESCON model.RESCON model will provide feasibily programme for the reservoir so as to run continuously and maximize the economic value.The main conclusions are the following aspects.1.Original RESCON model provides the Technical feasibility programme to Sanmenxia Reservoir is flushing programme, HSRS programme is not feasible in technically。As the high annual dredging volume, conventional dredging and dry excavation programmes can not reach by dredging technology this stage.Therefore it Is not feasible.2. Sediment transport rate in flushing phase is a extremely important factor in reservoir operation, which determines the amount of reservoir erosion.This study amends the formula of sand transport rate in RESCON model.Through verifing formula with the existing data of Sanmenxia Reservoir, we get the correlation R2=0.92, which shows a high correlation. So the formula is more reasonable.3.Applying the amended RESCON model to the Sanmenxia Reservoir in 2003, and get little difference between the output and actual value. The best programme of dredging Reservoir is still flushing.HSRS programme, conventional dredging program and dry excavation program still are not feasible in technically. Combining with the existing operation mode of Sanmenxia Reservoir, the study determines the optimal program after several calculations is follows:water elevation is 292m, flushing discharge is 2000m3/s, dredging frequency is once a year, flushing duration is 60 days.
