Study On Modern Urban Park Enterance Design

In the latest decades, urban park constructions in Beijing have showed a rapid growth, unfortunately with some unsatisfactory park entrances, some of which owe to the inappropriate design. Under such a background, this thesis aims to find and solve these problems, in order to remove the obstruction of urban park constructions.The author has investigated some of the urban parks in Beijing and summarized the inappropriate design of park entrance, and then make a study on the theory of modern urban park entrance design, on the theoretical basis of landscape design, architecture design, urban planning, behavior theory and the regulations of the gate in ancient China, to achieve plenty of design methods on how to design the entrance of urban park in Beijing. Furthermore, the successful cases of park entrance are also studied, to enrich and proof the previous conclusions, after which the complete theoretical systems are achieved.The main achievements of the thesis focus on the site planning, the design of park gate and the functional implementation, hoping to help the design of modern urban park entrance in Beijing, and to provide references for other areas.
