Nowadays, urbanization in China is rapid. And as the decrease of local rivers, precipitation, groundwater resources, cities short of water can't meet the need of urban life, such as:local industrial, agricultural, economic and social development. Because of the expanding urban green space and more construction of urban ecological environment, the water demand is increasing. Considering the conflict between supply and demand for water, people pay more and more attention to water-saving green space.Focusing on the hot issues, the paper explores water-saving awareness and practice of green space. There are three parts:based on the understanding of fundamental problems, the first part analyses the basic problems of urban development and the importance of green spaces; The second part analyses the concept,background and current situation of water-saving green space, and makes sure the need and feasibility of water-saving green space development;Taking green spaces in Shunyi District as an example, the third part is the discussion of water-saving green space construction and analysis of the practice of water-saving green spaces, which is the core of the paper.This paper studies on and makes feasible recommendations of water-saving green space construction from three aspects of the policy, technology, and mechanisms. Moreover, Taking green spaces in Beijing, Shunyi District, as an example, the paper discusses the case of water-saving green spaces in practice, hoping to develop and expand the thoughts on urban green space construction. Meanwhile, the study on the construction of water-saving landscape in the paper is expected to be a reference for other researches.
