Frequency response analyzer is used to measure the amplitude-frequency characteristic and phase-frequency characteristic of the networks. This paper advanced a design of low-cost and low-band frequency response analyzer, having a certain practical value.This paper presents a design of frequency response analyzer by analyzing the techniques of frequency characteristics analysis. It analysises the theory of various parts of the hardware circuit and completes the circuit parameter calculations in accordance with the signal generation, acquisition, processing of the flow. The instrument consistants of sweep signal source, amplitude detection circuit, phase detection circuit, data acquisition circuit, processing and control circuitry, data in and out circuit. It completes the system control software and FPGA control logic design, and achieves the data-processing function of amplitude and phase-frequency testing, parameter storage, calculation of Q-value. Hardware driver and initialization code are completed at last and are programed.Test method was designed to test the sweep signal source and the typical transmission network. The results show that requirement of design has been reached.
