With the rapid development of industry, the requirement of power quality is increasing. The application of many power electronic devices results in the deterioration of power quality. Power quality problems have already become the focus of both electricity department and users of electricity. Power quality problems brought great loss. In order to discover power quality problems and improve power quality, it is very necessary to study the monitoring device of power quality.'With the wide application of nonlinear electronic devices in power system, power environmental deterioration is increasing. There are a lot of factors influencing power quality. More and more new electric parameters need to measure. There are many complex tasks for power quality monitoring device to deal with such as data collection, signal processing and human-machine interaction, etc. No interval in measuring is a requirement of modern power quality monitoring devices. So we need high-speed processors. With comprehensive consideration, We choose the "ARM+DSP"double CPU architecture in this design. The idea makes full use of the data processing ability of DSP and control ability of ARM. The idea makes the internal division of the system more explicit. The idea makes the functions more powerful. The mature embedded real-time operating system Linux provides an efficient and reliable software platform.In the field of power quality monitoring devices, the selection of integrated chips and the application of embedded system are important methods to improve the real-time measurement device. TMS320C6713 has strong ability in data processing. AT91RM9200 not only has rich peripherals interface but also can transplant embedded operating system which make task scheduling easier. Firstly, this paper introduces the present situation and the study background of the power quality monitoring device. Then it introduces the power quality standards and the principle of power quality parameters. The calculation methods of power quality parameters are analyzed. Then this design has finished the PCB design of power quality monitoring device, the hardware design and some software program.
