With the development of the national economy, underground structures are more and more wildly applied to fulfill variety function and technological requirements. Function requirements stimulate the appearance of many new types of underground structures which make the traditional engineering analogy method could not guide the design progress effectively. So the numerical simulation method must be introduced to guide the design practices.This paper tries to optimize the structural design for the proposed Beijing-Zhangjiakou intercity railway Badaling underground station.(1.) Refer to research papers; summarize the rules that guide the structural design and the construction of underground stations. Defining the principles to optimize Badaling underground station。(2.) Two kinds of underground station structure are calculated and analyzed throughbuilding calculation mode of FEM by employing commercial finite element analysis software MIDAS/GTS. The best option of the structural design is determined according to the peripheral displacement of the carven, plastic zone and ground settlement.(3.) By optimizing the track layout at the intermediate station, a new type of structure is introduced. And compare with the above best option to introduce a new structural design method.It can offer direct guidance to the proposed Badaling underground intercity station and some reference to similar deep buried or large span projects.
