Earthquake is a kind of ground motion, which is complex, random and destructive. Intensive earthquake could have caused great disasters to human society. Traditional preventive measures are to clear the criteria for fortification and take effective activities to decrease the disasters on condition that the location and intensity of the earthquake is learned in advance, but it's not satisfactory. The robust design of structure function is paid close attention to gradually. The seismic isolated technology becomes a new effective technology to lighten the earthquake disasters, which experienced earthquake successfully.In this paper, the principle of base isolation systems, its components and classification is introduced simply. Secondly, the principle of metal sliding isolated device is analyzed in terms of dynamics and energy, and its slippage is discussed in detail. Finally, a large-scale shaking table test composed of the metal sliding isolated device and straight steel damper, designed by Professor Qinglai Chen independently, is simply introduced. The seismic response data of EL-centro (ELC) is analyzed and processed by the use of MATLAB software.By the analysis of acceleration and energy of a column of a steel frame from the 0 floor to the 6th floor under the ELC wave and the 1/(?) ELC wave of 200gal,400gal and 620gal, we get the conclusion that the higher of the floor, the better the seismic isolation condition shows effect than the anti-seismic condition. Under the excitation of 200gal earthquake wave, the seismic isolation effect is rather worse than other waves. But the more intensive the earthquake, the better the isolation effect. Especially in the 620gal, the isolation effect can be as high as 75%. The isolation effect of the 4th condition (the third tranche of damping) under 1/(?) ELC wave is better than the 1 st condition (the first tranche of damping) under ELC wave. In other words, the third tranche of damping (the inherent bearing damping+12% additional damping) isolation is better than the first tranche of damping (the inherent bearing damping+88% Additional damping).In a word, from the synthesis of the above three, the seismic isolation device has good effect, especially in the high floors in the high intensity. The different dampings used in the test play a significant role in the seismic isolation effect. The damping is not as high as possible, the additional damping value must be kept within a certain range in order to play a better vibration isolation effect.
