The Study Of Modeling Elements In Auto Design

World-renowned auto designer Giugiaro once, facing Chinese and foreign journalists, said: China's automotive design is lack of Chinese element. This remark points to the crucial point of China's car. Form Giugiaro's words, we can see two problems that the Chinese auto companies are facing of. First, the Chinese auto industry is very impulsive. Second, we are lacking of effective and creative design method. Although Chinese auto design, in recent years, made some great progress, as we started so late, we are still falling far behind foreign countries. Chinese auto design is still a long way to go.The purpose of this paper is trying to explore a new design idea and methods, in the background of Chinese auto design dilemma. This article discussed how to reflect Chinese characteristics in Auto Design with bionics design method, and to make cars aesthetic, so as to make people and cars become closer. First, by analyzing the history of the development of auto design, illustrates that Chinese Auto Design is still in the initial stage. Chinese Auto Design's progress needs to be coordinated with industrial technology, design standards and all relevant factors such as car culture. Point out view of Chinese Auto Design is still in the "Chinese characteristics accumulating phase ". Second, in order to study the application and expression of Chinese elements in Auto design, author combined Automotive Design with Chinese culture and Chinese tradition on the Combination. And demonstrate the feasibility of importing bionics design method into Auto Design. Third, through the introduction and analysis of the status of bionics design method applies in the foreign auto companies, author point out the viewpoint of how to make the "driver and car" relationship transform into "people and horse" relationship. By using bionics design method, design can import "forward common position" into cars, in the design phase, so as to bring cars to life, and creates the communion between people and cars. Author appeals that designers should enhance their design thoughts from describing the physical properties of the car to the level of shaping the character of the car. Finally, from the introduction of two concept car design practice, author improved the points mentioned earlier.
